The Department of MCA, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organized the Cloud Data Pipeline Bootcamp – Azure Edition on 13 December 2025 at the MCA Lab. The session was conducted by Ms. Somapudi Sai Geetanjali, Data Engineer at TE Connectivity, Bengaluru.

The bootcamp was designed to introduce first-year MCA students to cloud-based data engineering concepts and modern data pipeline architectures. It offered a hands-on learning experience focused on designing workflows, ingesting and transforming data, and building end-to-end pipelines using Microsoft Azure services. The session aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of cloud data processing, automation, and scalability, while equipping them with practical skills applicable to real-world industry environments.

Students were introduced to the fundamentals of cloud data pipelines, including the flow of data from source systems to storage and analytics platforms. The resource person demonstrated data ingestion techniques using Azure Data Factory and Azure Blob Storage, explaining how raw data is collected, stored, and organized in the cloud. The workshop also covered basic data transformation methods, highlighting how data can be cleaned, prepared, and processed for analytics.

A simple end-to-end pipeline was designed and executed during the session, helping students bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation. Activities included live demonstrations of Azure services, step-by-step walkthroughs of pipeline creation, and hands-on exploration of key components. Students monitored data movement and execution, participated in interactive Q&A sessions, and engaged in discussions on industry roles and career opportunities in cloud data engineering.

The workshop emphasized the importance of scalable cloud solutions for handling large datasets and reinforced the relevance of cloud-native tools in modern data analytics and data management.
