Industrial Visit to ISRO URSC – A Glimpse into Space Technology

On 23rd May 2025, the Department of MCA organized an enriching industrial visit to ISRO U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru. Around 65 students, accompanied by 2 faculty members, participated in this half-day educational tour aimed at deepening their understanding of advanced space technologies and satellite applications.

Students explored the Space Exhibition Centre, featuring iconic satellite models like ARYABHATA, APPLE, and the INSAT series. They learned about satellite components, including solar panels, thrusters, and thermal coatings, and observed a clean room setup used for satellite assembly.

A video presentation showcased the CHANDRAYAAN-3 mission, followed by insights into satellite imaging, electronic components, and real-time applications such as TV signal transmission. Students also discovered their weight on celestial bodies like the Moon and Mars, sparking curiosity about space science.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students explored career opportunities at ISRO and gained valuable guidance on recruitment processes.

Key Takeaways:

  • Insight into satellite design, components, and assembly.
  • Exposure to ISRO’s current and future missions.
  • Understanding of satellite applications in communication and remote sensing.
  • Awareness of career and research opportunities in space technology
