Guest talk on "Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
On February 25, 2025, Mr. Sivaguru K, a Software Engineer at Capgemini, delivered an insightful guest talk on “Oracle SQL & PL/SQL,” hosted by the Department of MCA. Titled “Oracle SQL & PL/SQL: Essential Concepts for Developers,” the session covered vital topics such as data retrieval, procedural programming, and optimization techniques. The talk began with an introduction to Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, detailing their importance in database management. Mr. Sivaguru discussed SQL fundamentals, which included data definition language, data manipulation language, data control language, and effective query optimization techniques. The session further explored PL/SQL block structure, control structures, and the creation and execution of stored procedures, functions, and triggers. By the end, participants had a robust understanding of database querying, procedural programming, optimization techniques, error handling, and efficient coding strategies, equipping them with essential database management and development skills.
