The Department of MCA organized an expert talk on the 28^th, June 2025 titled “Designing Scalable Applications with MongoDB”, focusing on principles for building applications that can handle increasing data and user demands. The session was led by Mr. Maddi Abhilash, Senior Software Developer at Anthology Inc., Bengaluru, known for his expertise in .NET, C#, RESTful APIs, and Azure cloud solutions. He explained the importance of scalability in modern software systems and introduced the core characteristics of scalable architectures such as modularity, fault tolerance, and high responsiveness.

Mr. Abhilash emphasized the critical role of NoSQL databases like MongoDB in managing performance under heavy load. He discussed various techniques including caching, indexing, and sharding to optimize performance, and handle large datasets efficiently. Real-world use cases helped students connect theoretical concepts to practical applications. A scenario-based Q&A encouraged students to think critically about designing systems that can withstand high traffic, such as during exam result announcements.

The interactive session clarified core concepts, especially around database performance strategies. Students actively participated, gaining insights into building robust, scalable systems. The event saw 52 attendees and was well-received for its industry relevance and practical orientation.
