Workshop on Entrepreneurship Summit

The summit started with an invovation song from two students of MCA. Later the dignitaries along with Dr.Prashanth C S R, Dean – Academics, Dr. Asha, Head, Department of MCA and Dr. K.G. Madhwaraj, Professor, Department of MCA lighted the lamp to mark the beginning of the summit on a positive note. This was followed by a welcome address by Dr.K.G.Madhwaraj. Later, the Dean-Academics stressed the importance of Entrepreneurship and why is it so for a developing country like India. His speech was truly inspirational and exciting to hear. This was followed by the proceedings of the Entrepreneurship summit.

1. Mr. Vivek M, Founder and Product Manager, MoonProduct
– The resource person shared his experiences of owning his new company MoonProduct. He talked about the many difficulties he faced while starting this venture from the private sector as well as the Government sector. He also said that Bengaluru is the most happening city in India and therefore there was plenty of opportunity to start new businesses here. Further, he addressed students to think about new ideas, never mind if it fails but keep working on so that one day benefits of the hard work can be gained. It was a very interesting talk for the students and they enjoyed it throughout.

2. Mr. PalaniRamkumarKandaswamy, Staff Engineer, Netskope
– This resource person shared the technical difficulties faced during Entrepreneurship. In MoonProduct, he acts as a Co-founder by taking care of the technical issues while Vivek takes care of the Management issues. He took practical examples of TCP, UDP, Why we use GMAIL and a lot of questions were posed to the students. The students were also very entertaining in answering to his questions. The session was very interactive. He also said that before starting any venture, one should acquire good technical skills or get people who can help you in operating the different threads a software company requires.

Outcome:

  • The students learnt and understood what Entrepreneurship was and its importance today if India has to become a large trillion economy
  • They also understood how to start new ideas, how they can be funded and how the journey begins as an Entrepreneur
