Social Outreach Visit to Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled

The Department of MCA conducted a social outreach activity at Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled on 24th December 2025 to foster social responsibility and empathy among students. The visit helped students understand the importance of inclusiveness and broadened their perspective on how compassion and technology can support differently-abled individuals.

Samarthanam Trust, located in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, is a reputed organisation that empowers visually impaired, physically challenged, and marginalised communities through education and skill development. The outreach aimed to promote empathy, support educational activities, and inspire confidence among the beneficiaries through meaningful engagement. Approximately 80 students at the trust benefited from the various interactive and educational sessions conducted by the MCA volunteers.

Activities included storytelling, teaching basic concepts, sign language demonstrations, and recreational programmes such as music, dance, and games tailored to the abilities of the participants. Students also engaged in one-on-one conversations to motivate the children and encourage them to pursue their aspirations confidently.

The volunteers were organised into teams to manage teaching, games, and overall coordination, ensuring the programme was carried out smoothly and effectively. The trust expressed appreciation for the visit, and both staff and children responded with enthusiasm and active participation.

Overall, the outreach experience helped MCA students develop a deeper understanding of inclusivity and compassion while reinforcing the role of collective responsibility in supporting differently-abled communities.
