Inclusive Hearts, Empowered Minds: Outreach at Samarthanam
On the 20th of June 2025, the MCA Department organized a social outreach event titled “Udaan: Igniting Futures with Ray of Mind” at Government Higher Primary School, Devarabisanahalli. This school, situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, caters to children from underprivileged communities. The initiative is aimed at empowering young students through digital literacy, emotional wellness, and confidence-building. MCA students led the effort, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving the community beyond academics.
Interactive sessions were designed to broaden the children’s perspectives and spark curiosity. Activities focused on basic computer awareness, creative expression, and positive thinking. Motivational talks and peer-led interactions encouraged students to dream big. The volunteers gained deeper insights into the impact of compassion and education on young minds. The experience helped both the volunteer and young students enhance their communication skills and emotional intelligence. Teamwork and adaptability emerged as key takeaways for the student facilitators. The outreach also nurtured empathy and a sense of social responsibility in both the volunteers and the children.
The initiative promoted mutual learning and trust through shared experiences. Witnessing the children’s enthusiasm further motivated the MCA students. Inspired by the success, the Department plans to scale up such efforts. Future events will include structured mentorship and extended digital education. The overarching goal remains to support holistic student growth through sustained engagement.
