Report on Industrial Visit to IBM

Date: 21st & 22nd October 2021

An Industrial visit was conducted by the Department of Master of Computer Application for the students of 2nd and 3rd Year MCA on the 21st & 22rd of October 2021 respectivelly, on the topic “Design Thinking” by ‘Latha Raj , Program Director & Global Technical Eminence Leader from IBM Cloud & Cognitive Solutions’.

 

Objectives:
>>To make students understand the importance of Design Thinking and the impact of Design Thinking in various Organizations.
>> To implement Design Thinking in various sectors as it yields effective outcomes.

Description:
>> The speaker introduces us to the concept of ‘Design Thinking’ and how it plays an important role in coming up with effective results in the Organization.
>>Design Thinking is a process which contains 5 modules mainly Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test.
>> The speaker also gives us a real-time example of how ‘Design Thinking’ is used in the industry.

Outcome:
>> The Industrial visit provided insights on how Design Thinking works in various Organizations.
>> The role of Design Thinking is to maximize the effectiveness of your work in various sectors so that the outcome is of highest quality.
>> ‘Design Thinking’ approach to solving a particular real-time business problem provides us with multiple approaches to solving the problem and we can choose the approach which is the best when compared to others.
