OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP:
- To Set up Virtual Private Cloud on AWS,
- To launch Amazon EC2 Linux instances and install Lamp Server and Run PHP code
To demonstrate Elastic Map Reduce on Data Analytics
PROFILE OF THE SPEAKER:
Dr. S. Jagannatha, currently working as a Professor in the Department of MCA, MSRIT, Bangalore.
CONTENTS:
The Department of MCA, New Horizon College of Engineering conducted hands-on workshop on “Data Analytics: Elastic MapReduce in AWS“ on 12th January 2022. The students of III Semester MCA attended the workshop and got benefitted. Dr. A.P. Nirmala, Associate Professor, Department of MCA introduced the speaker for the session.
Dr. S. Jagannatha, the resource person for the session gave an overview of Amazon Web Services (AWS). He demonstrated the following steps to set virtual private cloud on AWS and to launch an instance..
- Set up VPC, Subnet, Internet Gateway, Route table and security Group
- Launch Amazon EC2 Linux instances and install Lamp Server and Run PHP program on the server.
He showed the following steps to demonstrate Elastic Map Reduce on Data Analytics.
- Step 1: Take the input data and Map Reduce Programs.
- Step 2: Creating S3 bucket.
- Step 3: load all mapper.py , reducer.py and input.txt files into bucket.
- Step 4: Create Key Pairs (.ppk key)
- Step 5: Create a cluster
- Step 6: Create a Step function in running cluster.
- Step 7: open SSH client and run the streaming program
