Industrial Visit to Akshaya Patra Foundation - ISKCON

The Department of MCA at New Horizon College of Engineering organized a student visit to AkshayaPatra, ISKCON, on May 22, 2025.  Mr. Ankit Mishra, Program Coordinator, welcomed the group and led them to a conference room for an informative session. He explained the kitchen’s infrastructure, daily operations, and the role of IoT in meal preparation and distribution. Students also participated in an interactive session hosted by the Youth Empowerment Club in collaboration with FOLK.

The kitchen uses advanced machinery to cook 5.5 tons of rice and prepare 1,000 liters of sambar daily. Vegetable chopping machines and ragi ball makers enhance efficiency and hygiene. IoT-enabled temperature checks and GPS-tracked vehicles ensure timely and safe meal delivery. Stainless steel utensils and steam cleaning maintain food hygiene. Students learned about Six Sigma practices and the importance of coordination in large-scale operations. The visit highlighted the integration of technology, community support, and sustainability. Overall, the experience was enriching, offering students valuable insights into food tech, management, and personal growth.
