Session 1: Library Resource Utilization

The Bridge course has been conducted for the 1^st year MCA students which was held for 3 days.

On the first day i.e., on 06/02/2023 there was one session being conducted on library orientation program for the first semester MCA students at 308, MCA Classroom by 12:10 PM. 80 MCA students attended the program and got benefitted.

Dr. Nirmala A.P., Associate Professor, Dept. of MCA welcomed Dr. Anitha S Rai, Dean – Library and Alumni Relations. She introduced the speaker to the students.

Dr. Anitha S Rai, Dean – Library covered various topics regarding the Library and Information Center of the college. The facilities provided by the library, rules and regulations and the timings were explained with the information about the collection of books, project reports, research articles, journals and magazines. The automated library services were elaborated to the students.

The information about digital library access with digital repository which includes syllabus, notes and question papers were also clarified. The session included the discussion about the steps/procedure for accessing the ‘Lanquill’ grammar tool and related institution repositories which are highly useful for the students. The facility to download e-books and daily newspaper clippings also was included in the session. The mobile app facility to access all the resources of digital library was also detailed to the students. Overall, the session was exceptionally informative and beneficial to all the students.

Finally, the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Prof. Jincy C Mathew, Sr. Assistant Professor, Dept of MCA. The MCA Department would like to thank our Management and Principal for permitting us to conduct this program as a part of the induction program in our department.
