Inclusive Hearts, Empowered Minds: Outreach at Samarthanam
The Department of MCA conducted a social outreach program at Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, to promote empathy, inclusivity, and social responsibility among students. The visit aimed to support and engage with visually impaired, physically challenged, and socio-economically marginalized individuals.
Activities included Storytelling, Basic Education, Sign Language Demonstrations, Music, Dance, and interactive games. Students were divided into teams to manage teaching, games, and coordination. The initiative received heartfelt appreciation from the Trust, with active participation from the children and emotional reflections from student volunteers.
The experience enhanced students’ interpersonal skills and awareness of inclusive values. The Department plans to continue such initiatives, including future workshops on assistive technologies and long-term collaborations.
