Guest talk on Building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot

The Department of MCA organized a guest talk on “Building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot” on 2nd August 2025 for MCA II Semester students. The session was led by Mr. V. Venkata Sreenivasa Reddy, a skilled Java Backend Developer from Lamincap Technologies.

He introduced students to RESTful principles and demonstrated how to set up a Spring Boot project using Spring Initializr. The talk covered structuring applications with data models, repositories, and service layers. Students learned how to build REST endpoints and map HTTP methods to CRUD operations.

Mr. Reddy emphasized best practices for scalable and secure API development. The session included a hands-on coding example to reinforce learning. An interactive Q&A session followed, during which students asked insightful questions about Git and real-world challenges. The speaker also encouraged discussion on predictive analytics and its relevance in the industry. Overall, the session provided valuable practical exposure to modern web service development.
