Festival of Sharing at Makkala Dhama
The Department of MCA organized a social outreach program titled Festival of Sharing at Makkala Dhama, Bengaluru, on 19th September 2025. This initiative was led by Third Semester MCA students to promote empathy and social responsibility. Makkala Dhama is a development center that shelters and educates approximately 450 girl children in need of care and protection. The visit aimed to encourage a culture of sharing and compassion among students while supporting the children with essential groceries. Students actively contributed groceries and distributed them to meet the daily needs of the center. Interactive sessions, including games, songs, and storytelling, created a joyful atmosphere for the children. Motivational talks inspired the children to pursue their dreams with confidence and optimism. Group activities such as drawing and snack sharing helped foster personal connections and warmth. The outreach strengthened community engagement between the institution and the local society. Students reflected on the experience as humbling and enriching, gaining a deeper sense of gratitude and responsibility. The staff at Makkala Dhama expressed heartfelt appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and thoughtful gesture. The event highlighted emotional growth among students and brought happiness to the children. It successfully embodied values of kindness, empathy, and togetherness.
