Expert talk on Engineering in the Age of AI Agent

The Department of MCA organised an expert talk on “Engineering in the Age of AI Agent” on 23rd May 2026 to provide students with insights into the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of AI tools, AI agents, and their applications in academics, software development, and future careers.

The resource person for the event was Mr Hemanth Kanikicharla, Senior Consultant at Microsoft, Bengaluru, with over a decade of experience in delivering AI-driven solutions. Mr Hemanth shared his expertise in Generative AI, AI agents, and cloud-based enterprise applications, offering valuable industry perspectives and practical insights.

The talk covered key topics including AI fundamentals, Prompt Engineering, and the effective use of tools such as ChatGPT. He demonstrated how AI platforms can support learning, coding, debugging, and overall productivity. Students were guided on framing effective prompts to generate accurate, relevant, and meaningful AI-assisted responses.

The resource person highlighted the importance of responsible AI usage in enhancing creativity and strengthening technical problem-solving abilities. He also discussed the expanding role of AI in software engineering, automation, and emerging technological advancements. Career-oriented guidance, including interview preparation, CV building, and understanding industry expectations, formed an important part of the session.

Practical demonstrations and interactive activities enabled students to explore real-world applications of AI tools and technologies. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, allowing students to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into the evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence.
