The session aimed to build awareness of industry expectations and the importance of aligning academic learning with employability skills.
The speaker emphasised the value of early preparation, clarity in career goals, and continuous upskilling as essential elements for placement success. Students gained insight into how companies assess candidates during recruitment processes, including written tests, technical interviews, and HR evaluations.
The talk highlighted key attributes organisations look for, such as strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, effective communication skills, adaptability, and professionalism. Time management techniques were also discussed to help students balance academic responsibilities, practice sessions, and personal commitments. The session further clarified the role of HR interviews, focusing on how candidates are evaluated based on attitude, confidence, clarity of thought, and cultural fit.
Students were introduced to HRD portals and online platforms that support job applications, résumé building, and skill assessment. The session outcomes included improved clarity on placement processes and a better understanding of effective preparation methods.
